Gentle lilac and lavender glass, framed in sterling silver
This one of a kind lampwork glass necklace features layers of lavender and lilac shades, blended with a hint of grey. After kiln annealing, the glass is framed with sterling silver discs and hung from a choice of sterling silver chain lengths.
Finished with a sterling silver bolt clasp.
I am selling this necklace at a significantly reduced price as I have found a tiny 1 mm flaw in the glass on each side of the pendant. It is barely noticable, and was probably caused by the glass coming into contact with another bead in the kiln.
Bead width 25 mm (1 inch) Necklace length from chain 32 mm (1 1/4 inch)
Contemporary lampwork glass jewellery by glass artist and designer Carolyn Grant.
Handmade in my home studio in Cheshire, England, I create sterling silver earrings, necklaces and bracelets using my own handcrafted lampwork glass beads. Formed in a hot flame using a propane and oxygen powered torch, each lampwork bead is individually handmade and unique. My lampwork glass forms the focal part of my jewellery designs, each one a tiny little work of art. There is something hypnotic about working with hot glass, manipulating it in the flame and using a combination of heat and gravity to control the flow and create something beautiful. I learn something new every time I fire up my torch, and hope that my fascination with glass translates into my jewellery.
