Palest blush pink etched glass drops on silver stems
Drop earrings made from my individually handmade lampwork glass beads. These are such pretty earrings of the palest blush pink glass decorated with silvered ivory and strands of pure silver. Etched for a matt frosted finish, the glass is framed with sterling silver and hangs from sleek sterling silver stems and sterling silver earwires.
Approximate drop length from earwire 28 mm (just over 1 inch) Lampwork beads approximately 10 mm wide (3/8ths of an inch)
Contemporary lampwork glass jewellery by glass artist and designer Carolyn Grant.
Handmade in my home studio in Cheshire, England, I create sterling silver earrings, necklaces and bracelets using my own handcrafted lampwork glass beads. Formed in a hot flame using a propane and oxygen powered torch, each lampwork bead is individually handmade and unique. My lampwork glass forms the focal part of my jewellery designs, each one a tiny little work of art. There is something hypnotic about working with hot glass, manipulating it in the flame and using a combination of heat and gravity to control the flow and create something beautiful. I learn something new every time I fire up my torch, and hope that my fascination with glass translates into my jewellery.
